America’s strength lies not in rote pledges or the amount of flags displayed on houses and T-shirts, but in its great variety of culture and thought. In its relatively short history, America’s borders have swelled to include individuals from throughout the globe—all of whom brought their cultural traditions to share. Fairytale Town salutes America’s “melting pot” identity with an International Festival on Independence Day. Explore the pastimes and art of our diverse population with Tibetan sand paintings, South American radish carving, Australian platypus puppets, Asian tea and dancing from the Middle East, Africa, South America and Scotland. This Fourth of July party lasts through the 6th, with a different entertainment schedule each day. Drop by, Thursday through Saturday from noon until 3 p.m. Admission is $3.75 for adults and $3.50 for children. 3901 Land Park Dr. Call 264-7462 or visit www.fairytaletown.org for more information.
