Road to El Dorado, The

Rated 2.0 Dreamworks’ latest animated feature is a colorful, comic, botched adventure about lasting friendship and colonial conquest. It’s The Man Who Would Be King filtered through one of Bob Hope and Bing Crosby’s wisecracking, song-infested Road to … pictures that suffers from demographic schizophrenia. Two 16th century con men (voiced by Kevin Kline and Kenneth Branagh) win a treasure map to the legendary City of Gold in a crooked craps game. They travel to the new world city and plot with a curvaceous native (Rosie Perez) to steal a fortune in gold. The soundtrack includes six disposable songs from Elton John and Tim Rice.
