Asian Massive, fixing to raga your saghas off.

The mystical mix of classical Indian vocalizing, swirling electronica and adrenalized drum ’n’ bass licks fomented the Asian Underground movement back in the mid-1990s in London clubs, with tabla player Talvin Singh leading the way. Madonna thumbed a ride on the New Delhi highway with her 1998 album Ray of Light, and Bollywood film music opened the indie-movie gem Ghost World last year. The Asian Massive Tour from Six Degrees Records, which features dj Cheb i Sabbah, Karsh Kale and MIDIval PunditZ, is a rare chance to engage in the exotic trance-dance of this urban raga rage. Karsh is a U.K.-born, N.Y.-raised tabla player and percussionist; MIDIval PunditZ are a pair of studio musicians and DJs from India, and dj Cheb i Sabbah is an Algerian who’s now based in San Francisco. The show is at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, at Harlow’s (2708 J St.). Cover’s $15.
