Pageant of the fittest

Why sit at home watching muscular women in bikinis compete for Ms. Fitness America on ESPN when you can sit in a Folsom gym watching the same thing? Spend Saturday watching the state’s fittest individuals (both men and women) flex, lift and pose for a series of drug-free weight-lifting competitions. The titles for Natural Mr. California, Natural Ms. California and Ms. Bikini California and the ESPN Fitness America Pageant Folsom Championship will be decided in one afternoon. If all that muscle inspires you to work out more, there’s a health and fitness expo at the site. Prejudging begins at 10 a.m., and the finals are at 6 p.m. Admission is $10 for prejudging and $20 for the finals. The competition takes place at Folsom Middle School, 500 Blue Ravine Road in Folsom.
