Laugh and give. No guilt!

Hasan Minhaj: He’s funny. The Pakistan flood isn’t. Go laugh and be good at the same time.

There’s nothing at all funny about the natural disaster and the humanitarian crisis occurring in Pakistan right now, as the Indus River and its tributaries continue to wreak havoc while floodwaters move through the system. More than a million people are still being affected more than one month into the crisis, and 600,000 are displaced from their homes. The flood also has the misfortune to arrive at a time when “crisis fatigue” seems to be keeping Americans from donating aid.

Now, here’s the funny part: A bunch of comedians are staging a benefit show at the Sacramento Comedy Spot to raise money to help the flood victims. Don’t feel guilty; laugh! It will help everybody. Join Hasan Minhaj, Keith Lowell Jensen, Sammy Obeid and who knows how many other funny people, with all the proceeds going to the United Nations Refugee Agency (www.unhcr.org).
