You must stay away from this film if you don’t like your horror movies nasty and disturbing. It’s made strictly for Dawn of the Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre fans, and it will enrage more than a few viewers. The film focuses on a gargoyle-like creature that chases two teens. Director Victor Salva succeeds in creating one of the darkest, most frightening monster movies of recent memory. Horror movies aren’t supposed to make you feel good, to the best of my knowledge, and this one leaves you exhausted and miserable. That’s some people’s idea of a good time, and I count myself amongst the weirdos. If you like your horror films slick and low on gore and gross-outs, again, stay away.
