Holiday Greetings from River City

In old River City, where the trees are so pretty,
And levees keep us safe and dry,
They’re advising rubber boats or anything that floats
Kept nearby in case the water gets high.

For experts do say in the most casual way
(Still wanting us to feel warm and secure),
If a strange kind of weather should ever occur
That flooding would happen—for sure!

There’s talk of dam repair and levees patched with care
(We don’t know by whom, when or where).
But be of good cheer—the holidays are here—
Be merry, but keep life vests and water wings near.
