Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Rated 3.0

Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and his pals (Rupert Grint, Emma Watson) have their final showdown with Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). The Harry Potter movies have been remarkably uneven, and they remain so to the very end, but at least director David Yates, writer Steve Kloves (adapting the last third of J.K. Rowling’s last Potter book) end the series on an up note, making this the best installment in the series since Order of the Phoenix (Yates’ first). In the spectacular Battle of Hogwarts, Yates and company deliver the goods—generally. You still have to know the story, for much of the action is unexplained (the movies count on you having virtually memorized the books so you can fill in the gaps they leave). The three young stars are stronger and more energized than they’ve been in a long time.
