If you’re a dendrophiliac looking for a way to show your love, you can always adopt a grove of trees on the American River Parkway. The American River Parkway Foundation allows individuals or groups to adopt 85- to 150-tree groves of valley oak, interior live oak, California box elder, Oregon ash and California sycamore trees. Adopters are in charge of weekly watering, weed removal, cage repairing, and reporting and replacing dead trees. View a grove list and adopt a grove of your choice at www.arpf.org/grove.shtml. Adopting is a free and green way to get exercise or practice team building.
