If you’re looking for a bit of holiday cheer, you won’t find it outside the front window of Brioche Artisan Bakery, which faces the gloomy rear end of an aging Bel Air supermarket. Turn your attention to the bakery’s display case, on the other hand, and you will find plenty to “ho, ho, ho” about. Cakes shaped like a yule log, a pine cone or even a roasted turkey are available to become the centerpiece of your dessert table. You also can opt for cheesecake flavored with cranberry, eggnog or peppermint. For a quick holiday sugar rush, there are Christmas cookies, espresso bars, scones and donuts. Brioche has been open only about six months, but it quickly got on Santa’s good side by reviving the popular crunch cake made by the bakery’s previous occupants. It’s a bad location, maybe, but Brioche delivers good cheer. 7047 South Land Park Drive, (916) 391-0215.
