Food Stuff

Fall may be our favorite season, with the triple digits in the past, a chill edging into the evening and our famous canopy getting to show off its colors. It is an ideal time to take a stroll in downtown Davis, which is becoming an increasingly appealing destination for an informal meal. We like the recently opened Chef’s Market, a casually stylish deli firmly rooted in the foods of the Mediterranean. Chef’s Market features a number of lunch items, including a list of house panini served on locally baked Italian breads, Italian entrees, a few tempting salads, European table olives sold by weight, a decent selection of wines, deli meats and a few baked treats. Tapas are available Thursday through Saturday, when Chef’s Market stays open until 10 p.m. Check it out, take a stroll and enjoy the glory of fall. 117 E Street in Davis, (530) 756-6888.
