Food Stuff

After sampling pork ribs at the first Rhythm & Ribs competition on September 27, we still had our judge caps on. So, we drove to to see how it stacked up with the competition at Raley Field. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest), we gave Ludy’s an 8 for appearance (loose sauce that was not fused to the meat, and sauce burned by a finish grilling), an 8 for texture (the meat was moist and falling off the bone, though it was a bit fatty), an 8 for taste (it could stand more smokiness) and an 8 for the sauce (a good balance between sweet, sour, spicy and salty). So, give Ludy’s an 8, which is a B or a 3.0 grade-point average. Then, give it extra credit for the house-made fries and the rustic barn décor. That’s good enough for a certificate of commendation from the judges! 667 Main Street in Woodland, (530) 666-4400.
