Chicago Dog, Marley’s Hot Dogs

If a new Chicago-themed pit stop in the heart of Fair Oaks seems a little out of place to you, you’d be right. Awkwardly hedged between a grocery store and an Indian restaurant, Marley’s Hot Dogs is easy to miss—but you definitely don’t want to miss out on its faithful rendition of the classic Chicago Dog ($3.95). A Vienna beef frankfurter in a fresh, poppy-seed bun, dressed in all the essential fixings (two tomato slices, two pickled Vienna sport peppers, a kosher-dill pickle spear, neon-green sweet relish, diced white onions and a pinch of celery salt). It’s a tasty dog that tickles the palate. Pair it with some piping-hot Chili Cheese Fries ($4.59) and pull up a chair amid the kitschy Chi-Town décor. If you use your imagination, it’s almost like spending a lazy day at Wrigley Field. 8121 Madison Avenue, marleyshotdogs.com.
