Burbs beer boom!

These days, a business owner can't just put 8 million beers on draft and expect brew lovers to come sprinting through the doors. The Yard House model is done. Even in suburban Sacramento, where two relatively new beer destinations are making their mark. Final Gravity (9205 Sierra College Boulevard in Roseville) leads the charge: It specializes in American beers, with an emphasis on local (Track 7 Brewing Co., Knee Deep Brewing Co., Berryessa Brewing Co., Auburn Alehouse). This is changing, though, as I recently saw a bottle of Freitgeist gose by one of my new favorite breweries outside of Cologne, Germany, on Final Gravity's Facebook page. Boneshaker Public House (2168 Sunset Boulevard, Suite 104 in Rocklin) plays a similar American-ale game, with beers by Allagash Brewing Company, The Bruery and Ballast Point in regular rotation.
