Virginia may be for lovers, but the Sacramento County clerk-recorder’s office is for lovers looking to get hitched this Valentine’s Day. Yep, this time each year, the office sees a surge in couples looking to tie the knot. For those of you planning to take the big step, I’ve got some vital information for you. First off, the office will offer extended hours this Monday (that’s Valentine’s Day, for those of you who weren’t paying attention). Appointments are strongly recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. Stop by between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., and be prepared to spend at least two hours waiting. The price tag on a marriage license is $68 if you get there before 5 p.m., and $80 if you arrive any later. A wedding ceremony will set a couple back $33, and it’ll cost you another $13 if you want a certified copy of the license. Couples can say “I do” at 600 Eighth Street. Call (916) 874-6131 for more information.
