Life is always more interesting when things get Wilde. And the great Irish playwright (Oscar Wilde, in case you hadn’t guessed) was never wittier, or more paradoxical, than in The Importance of Being Earnest. City Theater is mounting a revival of this classic comedy of manners and romance, first performed in 1895 and still as sharp as a razor. Luther Hanson directs. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays, in the Garden Court Theater at Sacramento City College, 3835 Freeport Blvd. (916) 558-2228. $8-$10. Through May 19.
