Boiler Room

Rated 2.0 Almost liked this one about greedy, young stockbrokers working for an illegal firm, but hated the ending so much it derailed the movie. Giovanni Ribisi plays a young entrepreneur who ends up working for the wrong firm, Charlie Sheen, Wall Street-style. Ben Affleck delivers a good riff on Alec Baldwin’s Glengarry Glen Ross monologue. The film manages to rip off other movies on a level that is entertaining for the most part, but unfortunately suffers from the same sappy melodrama that plagued Oliver Stone’s Wall Street. The film should’ve quit while it was ahead, because the ending is awful.
