Birth

Rated 2.0 Director and co-writer Jonathan Glazer (Sexy Beast) paints himself into a corner as this initially intriguing metaphysical mystery degenerates from escalating possibility into indigestible mess. On a wintry day in New York City, a jogger collapses and dies in a Central Park tunnel at the same moment a baby is born. A decade later, the runner’s widow, Anna (Nicole Kidman in short red hair), is about to remarry, when 10-year-old Sean (a superbly haunting Cameron Bright) crashes a party at her apartment and announces that he is her husband. This claim is met with varying reactions from Anna and her family and friends as Sean persistently worms his way into Anna’s life and still-bleeding heart.
