Bacon love

Get ready for all things porky, fatty and salty: Sacramento Bacon Fest is back for its sixth annual week of bacon love. It kicks off Monday, January 23, with an opening party at Formoli’s Bistro (3839 J Street). For $30, you get entry, one drink and access to bacon-laden appetizers that will circle the restaurant all night. The fest concludes with its annual chefs’ challenge on Sunday, January 29, which is already sold out. In between, the Bacon Fest team will host some official events, but area restaurants also get in on the action with fun bacon specials.
