Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem

Rated 2.0

The grudge match continues between the two space monsters (the 21st century equivalent of Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, but without the vintage Universal acting troupe), picking up exactly where the last installment left off: The offspring of a mating between the two species crash-lands on Earth, followed closely by a pursuing predator to start the struggle anew, choosing Earth as the battleground because of the aliens’ practice of nesting in human bodies (and, no doubt, for the planet’s abundance of hungry actors willing to appear in movies like this). Written by Shane Salerno and directed by “The Brothers Strause” (i.e., Colin and Greg), the movie wastes no money on stars, no time on plot or character, and no lighting on the set (an effort, perhaps, to conceal the cheesiness of the special effects).
