A grape, escaped

This Saturday's Grape Escape was supposed to be this weekend's Farm-to-Fork Taste of Summer's main event. Instead, it was canceled partly due to last year's vendor issues with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. No need to sit at home and cry into a glass of red wine, though. There are still three remaining Farm-to-Fork Taste of Summer (www.farmtofork.com/summer) events: Winemaker’s Dinner, Taste of Summer Happy Hour and Bubbles & Berries Brunch. The Winemaker's Dinner ($125, 6 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Sutter Club, 1220 Ninth Street) features passed appetizers, a three-course meal and wine chosen by Sutter Club's sommelier. The Taste of Summer Happy Hour (4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 6) comprises happy-hour specials at Block Butcher Bar, Hook & Ladder, Hot Italian and LowBrau. And the Bubbles & Berries Brunch ($65, 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, on 13th Street between K and L Streets) features a made-to-order menu prepared by Dawson's at the Hyatt Regency, and Preservation & Co. bloody marys available for purchase.
