Drowning Mona

Rated 2.0 The Bette Midler parade keeps rolling on: It’s yet another comedy that isn’t funny. This one has Danny DeVito as a police officer investigating the circumstances around the death of the town meanie-head (Midler). What can you say for a film whose best performance is turned in by Neve Campbell? I laughed twice, and one of the times was when I recollected a joke my father told me last year. Midler is relatively funny, but her screen time is sparse. The only bragging right this film has claim to is being the film with the most Yugos in it.
