102 Dalmations

Rated 1.0 This dull sequel to the mirthless 1996 live-action version of Disney’s animated adventure is more forced than funny. Cruella De Vil (Glenn Close) is released from prison after undergoing psychotherapy. The cure is far from flawless, and the manic collector of exotic furs tries to turn the canines owned by her parole officer (Alice Evans) canines into a hooded coat. The cutthroat Jean Pierre Le Pelt (an ultra-hammy Gérard Depardieu) provides crude, slapstick villainy as an animal shelter owner (Ioan Gruffudd) and a talking parrot (the voice of Eric Idle) that thinks he is a rottweiler come to the rescue. Directed by Kevin Lima (Tarzan).
