Scary Movie 4

Rated 2.0

It starts with a spoof of Saw with Shaquille O’Neal and Dr. Phil McGraw and then segues into various Japanese-style horror movies plus Spielberg’s War of the Worlds, M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village and any others that popped into the heads of writers Jim Abrahams and Craig Mazin and director David Zucker. This franchise will never make the history books, but, you know, if they have to keep coming, this is probably the best of the lot, with more laughs than you might expect. No doubt that’s thanks to the presence of Airplane! veterans Abrahams and Zucker, who invented this genre and can make it look easier than it is. Anna Faris and Regina Hall are back (and, by now, should get some sort of Good Sport Award), as is Leslie Nielsen, joined by Craig Bierko (in the Tom Cruise role) and Anthony Anderson.
