Happily N’Ever After

Rated 1.0

When the wizard who oversees the happy endings in Fairy Land goes on vacation, Cinderella’s wicked stepmother gets her hands on the wizard’s magic staff and starts messing around with all the fairy tales. It falls to Cinderella and Rick, the under-appreciated servant to the dim-witted Prince Charming, to set things right. The story (written by Robert Moreland) is as arbitrary and pointless as the apostrophe in the second word of the title; the animation (directed by first-timer Paul J. Bolger) is flat and charmless, with a garishly ugly color scheme; and the whole movie is a snooze-inducing bore from the word go. The voice cast includes Sigourney Weaver, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., George Carlin, Andy Dick and Wallace Shawn, but they are helpless against the poor script and animation.
