40 Days and 40 Nights

Rated 3.0 The Truth About Cats and Dogs director Michael Lehmann now tackles the truths, myths and misconceptions about 20-something male and female libido in this thin, simplistic but funny sex comedy about not having sex. After getting dumped by his girlfriend, San Francisco dot-com Web page designer Matt (Josh Hartnett) resists the promiscuous singles life embraced by his roommate and co-workers. He decides to end his obsession with his former flame and regain control of his life by giving up sex for Lent, solicits moral support from his soon-to-be-a-priest brother and gives up both physical contact with females and sexual self-gratification. His abstinence and newfound discipline is soon undermined by an Internet betting site called The Vow that monitors his every move and a chance Laundromat meeting with the woman of many men’s dreams (Shannyn Sossamon).
