Temperance: Best place to chill out

The last place that many of us associate with Temperance is St. James Infirmary. But look a little deeper into the card’s meaning: Balance, harmony, unity. Judging from our readers’ loyalty to the bar and its staff, St. James possesses all these attributes. And sitting on a Friday on the deck upstairs—as a warm evening breeze ruffles the bevnaps and cools the brows of our city’s hard-working, creative class, before the sun slides into the mountains to the west—we find the healing energy of Georgette and the rest of the crew moderates those ideas of Temperance. We, at least the intemperate editors of the RN&R, find ourselves in full agreement with our readers.
