X-Men Origins: Wolverine

This one has been taking a beating from critics after an unfinished copy of the movie leaked to the Internet. Not having seen that copy, I can’t tell you if the finished product is similar or not. I can tell you that Hugh Jackman is great in his best-known role, and Liev Schreiber was a good pick for Sabretooth. The story shows Logan/Wolverine from youth to right about the point where he ended up at the mutant school with Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart, who makes a weird-looking cameo). It’s not as good as the first two X-Men, but is definitely better than the third. Ryan Reynolds makes an interesting appearance as Deadpool at the film’s beginning and end. Overall, it’s decent, if not remarkable, blockbuster entertainment with a charismatic star at its core.
