Webcam taken off Obama at UNR

We received an inquiry about why the “quad cam” that normally shows the University of Nevada, Reno quad (www.unr.edu/quadcam.html) showed only window shade during Barack Obama’s visit. It appears to have been an overzealous implementation of an order from campus police that “blinds, drapes, and windows facing the Quad will be closed and must remain closed until the event has concluded.” One campus official said the order could probably have been honored while still keeping the scene on camera, but such was not done.
