The B-52’s

Nude on the Moon: The B-52’s Anthology

B-52’s fans can be fairly easily divided into two categories: those 30-somethings for whom "Rock Lobster" was their first exposure to the group’s goofy and campy post-punk funk; and those 20-somethings for whom "Roam" and "Love Shack" served that function. Both groups are well served by this two-disc anthology, which includes most of the worthwhile material from the band’s first two groundbreaking releases and just about everything worth owning from the band’s later material. There are a bunch of new mixes and alternate versions, including a charming remix of "Mesopotamia" and a live version of "Quiche Lorraine." Any missteps? Well, it would have been nice to see "Throw That Beat in the Garbage Can" in place of the dumb "Girl from Ipanema Goes to Greenland," but otherwise, this collection gives you just about everything you need. Anyone who ever rocked a mullet will be sure to shed a nostalgic tear.
