Sweet re-lease

The Great Basin Community Food Co-op has raised enough money—$416,244—through member loan pledges and membership equity investments to sign the lease on its new location at 240 Court St. and begin work on its community cafe and commercial basement kitchen. (See “Will work for food,” Green, Feb. 10.) At 7,000 sq. ft., the space is much larger than its current location at 542 1/2 Plumas St. The co-op plans to expand its offerings to include a bakery, cafe, community space and farm-to-chef staging area. The expected move-in date is Sept. 1.
