Stage pick of the week

Washoe County Library and Friends presents an unrehearsed intellectual discussion between author and master of wit Mark Twain (McAvoy Layne) and Nevada humanitarian Alice Smith (Juanita Westbrook), who was co-founder of the Nevada NAACP. The conversation takes place at 7 p.m. Sept. 19, with refreshments served at 6:30. Tickets are $15 and $10 for Friends of the Washoe County Library. The performance will he held at the new Black Box Theater at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, 100 S. Virginia St., 327-8363.
