Visitors to Black and White Books have long been fans of the bookstore’s cat, Jake ("What’s Black & White and read all over?” RN&R, Feb. 21, 2002). There is now a second cat, Zamboni, on the premises. Zamboni was owner Roman Hruska’s home cat until it was determined that Hruska’s daughter was allergic to her. So Zamboni went to work in the bookstore, where she is still working out her relationship with Jake. “They got into it a couple of times, but I think they’re starting to get along,” Hruska says.
