Love Actually

Rated 3.0 This movie is nuts, and it’s overstuffed with characters and subplots. Yet, thanks to a charming cast that includes Hugh Grant as a fictional British Prime Minister, Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth and Keira Knightley, the film qualifies as entertaining fluff. No use going into all the details because that would take a few pages, just know that the movie gives you everything you need for the standard Christmas holiday romance cravings. However, take note that this movie is R-rated, and we are talking hard R. A subplot involving two porn stars falling in love comes with plentiful amounts of nudity and sex humor, which had folks in the audience I sat with proclaiming stuff like “Oh my!” and “Is this an R rated movie?” Don’t be fooled by the commercials, because this is no family film. Don’t mean to sound preachy, but you’ve been warned.
