Legislature

The grass roots stir
Women’s organizations around the state are preparing for the biennial ritual called Grassroots Lobby Days, a flurry of lobbying at the Nevada Legislature by members of organizations such as Business and Professional Women and the League of Women Voters.

The groups will be sending members to lobby lawmakers on child and family issues like child care and domestic abuse. Grassroots Lobby Days began in Nevada in 1991. This year, they will run March 6–8. Additional information can be found at www.nevadawomenslobby.org.
