Killer Elite

Jason Statham, the modern equivalent of Charles Bronson, gets himself another ho-hum action film with this confusing mess that goes nowhere. Statham plays a killer for hire who finds himself going after elite British military guys for some reason involving some rich sheik’s sons getting killed. Statham’s character must go after the killers because the sheik has kidnapped his friend, played by Robert De Niro (yes, Robert De Niro). Clive Owen shows up as some kind of angry British guy who doesn’t like that Statham is chasing British guys, or something like that. Your eyes are sure to glaze over while watching this thing, a total waste of time on all fronts. The only thing cool about it is watching De Niro shoot an automatic weapon, much like he did in Heat.
