Hot Tub Time Machine

Rated 4.0

Three friends and a younger nephew (John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke) go to a ski resort where the older guys shared some of their glory days. They hop into the hot tub, where a mechanical malfunction transports them back in time to 1986 and a very pivotal weekend in each of their lives. They try to retrace their steps so as to avoid the butterfly effect, but temptations get the best of them, and they start screwing with history. Seeing Cusack visiting his ’80s heyday is a trip, and Corddry and Robinson are gross comic howls as his friends. The movie provides a great excuse to play bad music, wear terrible clothes, and rip on an obnoxious decade. Watch closely for nice nods to Cusack classics like Better Off Dead and Say Anything.
