Health care lawsuit survives

As expected, U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson of Florida ruled Oct. 14 that a lawsuit challenging the federal health care law can go forward, but in sharply abridged form. The suit was brought by 19 states, the National Federation of Independent Business and Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons. Nevada is not a party to the suit; Gibbons joined it using a private attorney. Vinson threw out most of the lawsuit but said the portion challenging the requirement that all citizens have health insurance could be heard.
