Gotta have Faith

The Pioneer Center hosts numerous touring musicals throughout the year, but this weekend, the performing arts venue will feature a big name in musical theater. Faith Prince headlines the second show in the Cabaret Concert Series. Prince is best known for her Tony award-winning performance as the unwed Miss Adelaide in the 1992 Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls. She has also received Tony nominations for her portrayal of Ella Peterson in the revival of Bells Are Ringing and her part in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway. The actress has appeared in various TV shows, including Spin City, Law and Order, Huff and more recently on the medical drama House. Her film credits include 1993’s Dave and 1997’s Picture Perfect. Prince’s CD, A Leap of Faith, is a career retrospective of some of her most memorable Broadway roles and includes songs like “Adelaide’s Lament” and “Something Wonderful.” She will perform these songs and others at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Magic Underground at the Pioneer Center, 100 S. Virginia St. Tickets are $30. Call 851-1638 or 686-6600.
