Fast & Furious

Rated 1.0

At first, I was all excited about Vin Diesel and Paul Walker re-teaming for the franchise that made them both famous. Then the realization sunk in that both of them kind of suck, and the first film was only good because Rob Cohen filmed a mean car race scene. This one has director Justin Lin, who helmed the lousy Tokyo Drift, trying to direct a grouchy Diesel, who constantly looks and sounds like he wants it to be naptime. There are a few OK, albeit ridiculous, chase and race scenes, but most of the movie deals with a stupid murder mystery. Michelle Rodriguez makes an all-too-brief appearance. They needed her for the whole movie, because she actually brings life to the screen, while Diesel and Walker bring tedium.
