Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin—The Untold Story

To say that the plot is loose and some characters underdeveloped means that this review is already taking this DVD too seriously. But still, this straight-to-DVD movie was a little disappointing for this outing by America’s new favorite animated family, the Griffins. Instead of taking the chance to really offend the audience and try things he couldn’t do on TV, creator Seth Macfarlane plays out the movie like it’s an extended episode of the aired series, which makes it seem a little long, even for its 88 minutes. The movie does, however, feature the usual Family Guy fare: inappropriately long sequences, jabs at Jesus, racism and Stewie’s “sexy parties.” So despite its pitfalls, the movie is still pretty “freakin’ sweet.”
