Eco-event

On Sat., Nov 12, Rail City Garden Center’s Green College will host a seminar on Bare Root Trees and Fall Pruning. Instructor Pawl Hollis will show you what bare root trees you can plant now and how to prune the trees and shrubs you already have. Pruning in the winter season is crucial to a plant’s survival. As well as increasing a tree’s aesthetic appeal, pruning removes weak branches that are likely to break off and cause damage during a winter storm, helps with pest control and increases airflow through. Class will be held at 11 a.m., Rail City Garden Center. Cost is one can of food for local food bank. Register at 355-1551. Seating is limited. To learn more, visit www.railcitygarden.net.
