Easter bunny benefit

Many people want to stay at home, rather than a hospital or other healthcare facility, when they are suffering from a debilitating illness. The residency program for the Nevada Aids Foundation provides rent and utilities so that AIDS patients can stay in a comforting place. To generate funds for the program, The Patio, a Reno bar, will be hosting its second annual Easter basket raffle and auction. The Patio employees have put together several Easter baskets with donations from local vendors, according to manager Tom Glogowski. Basket goodies include wine, liquor and gift certificates from restaurants like Claim Jumper, Fourth Street Bistro and Guidos Pasta and Pizza. Last year, the charity received $2,200. "This year, we hope to double our efforts," Glogowski said. The Easter basket drawing will be held at 2 p.m. Mar. 24 at The Patio, 600 W. Fifth St., during a buffet that costs $5. Raffle tickets are on sale now for $1. For more info, call 323-6565.
