Earth

A much shorter version of the epic BBC series Planet Earth, which features some amazing nature footage, released under the Disney brand name. It’s G-rated, so footage of cheetahs chasing down antelopes ends before the bloody stuff. It’s all good to watch, but just a repeat for those of us who own the DVDs of the series and have watched it five times. Still, I can’t get enough of that Great White going airborne as he eats the seal, or the bird of paradise doing his little “Have sex with me!” dance. James Earl Jones now narrates, and it’s a little strange because he’s the voice of Darth Vader and that could scare children. If you have the DVDs already, you’re probably good to skip this one—unless you really want to see that shark jump on the big screen, in which case, have at it.
