Danse Macabre

Danse Macabre is Nevada’s new online literary journal. Edited and produced by Adam Henry Carriere, a 2006 Nevada Arts Council Poetry Fellow, the site’s use of long-scroll navigation, black background behind brightly colored text and its inordinate amount of outer-space images make for a somewhat amateurish design. Much of the content is reader-worthy. In honor of National Poetry Month, April’s features include poetry from Carriere, Ash Canyon Poets Susan Botich and Elizabeth I. Riseden and others. John Clare interviews the quirky and masterful film composer Danny Elfman in the site’s most intriguing piece. This online journal has a ways to go—the layout makes it confusing and frustrating to read. But its intentions are good and its potential substantial.
