Come Alive

I enjoy Daniel Ash’s work, and I was intensely honored to shoot photos for his recent release, Come Alive. The 15 tracks, remarkably clean for a live album, run the gamut of his illustrious career. Ash revisits his three solo albums, opening with the industrial, rave-flavored “Come Alive.” John “Servo” De Salvo’s intense drum work has an energy seldom heard on a live CD. Ditto for bassist Mike Peoples’ thunderous bass lines. Ash’s guitar comes careening through with his mind-bending “sonic romance” sound. Some fans may be disappointed by the absence of hits like “No New Tale to Tell,” but the CD contains enough material to take fans on a long, dreamy trip down memory lane.
