Candidate finds new merit to Nevada

After his near-tie in the Iowa caucuses, Republican candidate Rick Santorum—who began his campaign by carefully excluding Nevada from his plans—has changed his mind and is pulling together a Nevada organization.

Santorum has hired former Nevadans Zack Moyle and David McGowan. McGowan told Fox News that Nevada voters are “going to find us as much as we’re going to find them.”

Nevada is one of four states authorized by the national GOP to hold early campaign events. In his announcement of candidacy in June, Santorum said his campaign would have “a heavy emphasis on Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina,” the other three states that are allowed to go early.
