Bachmann on Yucca

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann says only “radical environmentalists” now oppose the proposed Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump.

In an interview with a South Carolina newspaper—that state is anxious to deposit its power plant wastes at Yucca Mountain—Bachmann said, “There was an agreement that was made that the nuclear waste would go to the Yucca Mountain facility. And I think that the scientific community agreed that this would be the best location for that. We’ve already paid for it. Right now it’s just being held up by the radical environmentalists.”
