Airplanes, helicopters, gliders, oh my

We all have kids. If it is not a real human kid, it’s the kid inside of us. And both the real kid and the inner kid wish they were up in the airplanes in that wild blue yonder when they watch the air races, unless of course the airplanes are crashing. But there is a safe and almost as fun alternative—the Junior Championship Air Races and Fun Fair, located at the North Valleys Regional Sports Complex at 8085 Silver Lake Road in Stead. Kids of all ages can try their hand at the controls of remote controlled airplanes, helicopters, cars and radio-guided gliders. There will also be stunt demonstrations and airplane making activities. This event is free to the whole family and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.
