The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror, Version 2.0

’Tis the season to scurry off and find a safe haven away from the incessant yammerings of festive nabobs, and what better way to participate (with reservations) than with a Christopher Moore Christmas story? Establishing his own milieu of absurdist supernatural shenanigans with The Stupidest Angel, Moore returns to the center of his mythos, the small Northern California town of Pine Grove. It’s Christmas Eve, and the denizens of the town are scurrying about, readying for the big holiday pageant at the local church. In one case, that involves the murder of Santa Claus. But no fear, an angel has descended upon Earth to grant a wish to a small child … but unfortunately, in the hands of the eponymous character, that wish gets muddled and results in an undead Santa and a graveyard’s worth of party crashers. The Stupidest Angel is a hilarious take on the season, dark without being mean-spirited about it. Version 2.0 includes an extra chapter, picking up one year after the Christmas … happening.
